Empowering families
does not mean
giving or bestowing
power on families -
the power is there
by right.

As families, we
recognize our
strengths and
abilities. It is
through our
advocacy that we
become effective
partners and
agents for change.

Our MissionInformationSupportTrainingAdvocacy

URGENT: SPAN is working with the NJ Special Education Leadership Council and NJ TASH to end the abuse of students with disabilities in NJ through the continued use of aversives, restraints, and seclusion. To that end, we are collecting stories of families whose children have faced aversives, restraints, and/or seclusion. Please forward your story and let us know if you are willing to testify should public hearings be held. Send your information to diana.autin@spannj.org and copy pkinsell@spannj.org and martha.brecher@spannj.org. Thanks so much!
